There's this myth that all immigrants must vote democratic or that they align with democratic ideal when it's actually the opposite. It's the alienation from the right that tends to make Republicans think immigrants are part of the democratic party base and therefore continue to not reach out to them or even begin to favor immigration reform, also the villainization of foreigners probably doesn't help. 

You could talk to any person that's from latin america what their views on politics are and you'll see they definitely skew conservative.

It's not going to matter to me if the Keystone Pipeline doesn't get built, or if immigration becomes more prominent. I'm still gonna be a broke ass nigga. On the upside, maybe I get my student loans nullified. I really have more to gain under Biden than under Trump. Sure, we might be warping society but it's not like I'm a part of that either.
