Hello SC, tonight I will teach you a very effective style of debate. Pioneered by SC's very own MissC, these tactics are guaranteed to disarm your opponent, by destroying any notion of civil and open discourse. That way, you can walk away feeling victorious and people who are on your side of the spectrum will agree with you anyway.
But before you use these tactics, you will need to do some research. Luckily for you, this part is quite minimal. Here is the material you need before you can debate in this style-
Now that you have watched these videos, you are now armed with everything you need to debate like MissC. Here are some general ground rules for debating like MissC:
-Watch lots of John Oliver segments. He is the king of elitist snark, which a large part of this debate style.
-Do not try too hard to make your point with evidence or logic, instead impose your intellectual superiority by reminding them of it. This is where derogatory statements like "Trumpanzees" come in handy.
-Pepper in some text language here and there such as "Lol" or "lmao" to signal to people who already agree with you that you are hip.
-Brush off any attempt to disagree with you with more imposition of your superiority.
-If your side achieved some kind of win politically, this is very good. The reason for this is it gives you a great opportunity to use the appeal to popularity fallacy. Make sure to remind them of the number of people who agree with you. Remember not to touch the subject itself lest you be stumped.
-Don't forget to remind them to listen to the experts, because Fauci is god and cannot make mistakes. Use the appeal to authority fallacy liberally, so they know that the elites side with you therefore you are right.
-Make sure to call them science deniers, conspiracy theorists, and racists while you're at it. I cannot stress enough that you should avoid actually trying to prove these statements right at all costs.
-If worse comes to worse, just ditch the discussion. People who are biased towards you or your position will not care about the fallacies so you won't lose anything.
There you have it, now you can debate like MissC. I hope you enjoyed this guide.
