The right does the same however, usually through calling the left weak and unable to face the truth. It's a pot calling the kettle black scenario where, through both sides doing it, it's become easier to judge the individual who partakes in it (such as we see with us and Misscomm here).

I'm don't consider myself a liberal. I hate most identity politics, although that domain is not just liberal anymore - the right is pretty far into identity politics too. All of that is just used to distract people from the real issues of systemic economic disparity.  

I also hope you're right and populism (and anti-science conspiracies) fade or at least become fringe. 

As for trump, idc about him. He's batshit. For the past year he's been actively undermining democracy and promoting conspiracy theories for his own interests. I'm pretty sure he'd drive people to civil war if it favoured him.

 Ah, perhaps I misunderstood BR. I took that to mean they are going nowhere - as in they have no traction and are dead. Globally, the right wing populist movements have been fading. I assumed he was referencing that trend.
