Went through a similar thing. Realize that him leaving you does not make her better, it makes him a shithead. He's no prize, and realize he will probably do the same thing to her.

Appreciate that you're no longer with someone who is emotionally stunted and insecure, because monkey-branching is a sign of serious insecurity.

In my opinion it doesn't make him a shit head. In so far as he was not cheating it makes him the opposite. He met someone else and vibed with them on a deep level it seems, deep enough to make him question his current relationship. I do not blame him for having to face the reality of the sort of existential crises that arises from that situation, and the fact that he ended things instead of dragging them out speaks of integrity on his part.

If he grows to have feelings for some person in his work place incidentally he can of course bury it but if those feelings grow to the point that he comes to question the strength of his current relationship then he is already in crises. It would be disingenuous of him to hide that reality and live a lie for you merely to not hurt your feelings. If you want someone who genuinely loves you more than anything else then he needs to leave for your and his sake.

Yeah, honestly I'd be more looking at things like Chapo's mental stability and idea of reality.

A lot of people don't know how to handle a tangential crush during an otherwise dedicated relationship, and will freak out even within a healthy partnership. It's normal to have wanderlust, but what someone does about it shows their true character.
