Flu Season and Immunity

So, oddly enough the height of flu season is normally during Thanks Giving, and several years I have gotten quite ill with the flu during this time of year. But this year it missed me, to no surprise.

Because everyone is so overly sanitary now, and we've been doing a decent job at social distancing/wearing masks. It's almost as if, there was no flu season.

I heard people on the internet specifically only from New Zealand talking about a wave of flu then topped by a wave of what they call "hay fever"

I was expecting that the flu wave would cross over soon to the rest of the world, but, it's as if there was, no flu. Which is really odd.

November is usually the time of year the ER has people lined up in large cities, and the clinic's are booked to the brim with appointments. Sort of overwhelmed by flu season.

But instead, where is it? We are seeing a spike in corona virus cases, and I would consider us very much in the first inning of the second wave, of corona.

So if you've thought about being less careful, or have gotten relaxed and used to things, don't be fooled by the illusion of safety you felt during the previous months.

Epidemiologists also strongly believe corona virus is very much seasonally predictable like other viruses and flus, and these winter months will only contribute to the spread. Much like flu season.

If your area is in lockdown, consider yourselves lucky because you'll be spared of the second wave better than the other places. But be careful out there if you are not in lockdown, I would consider acting similarly to maybe how you did in March.

With winter now blooming, I'm really curious to see, if the flu rears it's ugly head. But the number of flu cases has been very low.

Meanwhile, the corona cases are spiking. I just find it odd that one does not grow with the other, and it makes me consider the possibility of diagnostic inaccuracy.

Regardless, because we've all been in quarantine, or at least- I have been, socially distancing. I can only imagine how vulnerable my immune system may be. So if you've considered taking vitamins and supplements, or adding things to your diets to boost your immune system, I highly recommend now would be the time to start if you have not already.

Because, the flu hasn't come around yet, and I'm curious, when will it? But regardless, few of us immunity wise will likely be prepared. To make fighting it off quicker and easier, invest in some immune boosting regiments.

Stay safe guys, and if you're doing anything involving social interaction- yes even if you stay 6ft away, please be considerate of others who don't have the luxury of staying home, and where your mask.

Avoid large gatherings, yes, including church. I believe this is where my grandmother picked up covid because she refused to stop going. She thought because they stood distanced in the pews she was safe, but doesn't understand that doesn't make you safe from a airborne microorganism in an inclosed space.

The main issue is actually not just surfaces or, someone breathing on you standing from behind you. It's the air conditioners. Which is why airplanes now have a much higher degree of sanitization going on in their air filtration system to eliminate corona virus. But regular stores, peoples homes, and, churches, don't have these implemented.

But this is why people have been able to get on planes and you're not seeing a high degree of contact tracing relaying back to the question, "have you traveled" lately anymore. The planes have found a work around, which they had to, because their business was suffering billions of dollars.

The problem isn't the airplanes anymore, it's just the fact that when they land, they're going out, they're going to stores, and spreading it there- and then spreading it to their families and close contacts that they came to see.

Scientists have agreed that spending 30 minutes in close contact with someone in an enclosed space, almost guarantees your chance of getting covid from that person if they are infectious.

That being said, we've also realized that after someone has been sick for ten days, their chance of being infectious is very minute. However, if you have been exposed, or are sick, physicians recommend staying quarantined for 14 days, and- also until your symptoms have completely cleared, and you have received two negative PRC tests. Rapid tests are not as accurate, and have less efficacy than that of playing russian roulette.

Actually Blanc sickness is on the rise with it being Fall, you can see it with COVID itself.

I said we are in the second wave of covid, I'm aware of that. But the flu numbers are not what they normally are. Which can be explained by the changes in standard covid precautions I suppose.
