Not really into it as much as I used to be, I've found that the I'll take to it pretty well but it tends to open the windows to magical thinking which isn't too bad but can get pretty tangled and thorny and it's best not dream about giving all you hold between your hands to some vague thing on a lake.
Wiccan stuffs for middle aged white suburban moms with too much wine and not enough hobbies anyways
That's not really Wicca's fault. This is like saying people shouldn't take up Atheism over how cringe their black T-shirts are and over how existentially whiny they show themselves to be.
As for the Magical Thinking thing, drop the faith angle and instead look for the parts that blend into more utility-based thinking, like I did with Symbology and Graphic Design. Beyond that, a lot of Wiccans go over the notion of "Intention" in ways that show it to be about adjusting people's perceptions rather than changing the world itself, demonstrating it's ideology to be more cerebral. This only lends as much to Magical Thinking as your ability to believe the folklorish nonsense rather than simply gathering data.
Religion, especially when it comes to "spellcraft", is a way to use mentalism on yourself to bring about different behaviors, and it's why Wiccans tend to act a little more withholding or tricky, why they tend to focus on elements of manipulation more forwardly than others might. At it's core, "Magical Thinking" is a way to ascend what holds you back in real life in lieu of Logic's ability to do it.
It's why some ye olden shaman types had such elaborate rituals in the name of faith; so they could believe it in spite of being complex individuals. Superstitious subscriptions are more than mere nonsense.
