The "Natural State" would be wherever point 0 is for 'Homo sapiens', where our species' behaviors truly began (which could be argued to be pre-human through bonobo and chimp arguments). It is the behavior at our truest prototype that either echoes still in the now or is completely lost. It's similar to talks of how we used to have stronger nails and sharper fangs.

Our traits are morphic, but to the degree of how morphic seems to be where the discussion has gone. It's that he gives less credence to evolutionary changes that's become the main hang up.

Isn't it more interesting to debate what differences still exist today?

That wasn't the topic we were given by TPG.

You don't need to define a "natural state" for that, just attempt to create a timeline of sexual traits or behaviors and check it for consistency.

The "Natural State" is a point of contention that still comes up to this day, especially with the proliferation of 4chan and 8kun boards. Whether there are more interesting things to debate or not is irrelevant.

A timeline would be fun, but we'd need it to be able to account for 200,000 years if it's to otherwise be useful when it comes to gauging our evolution (or much more if you go deeper).
