Uranium seems less important at this point, unless I'm missing something. Sure it's needed for nukes, but that's mostly a matter of getting a greenlight from the UN as far as I understand it. As well as being able to carry out enrichment. And you only need like 10 to make total war with you not worth it. Maybe you guys can start the largest nuclear energy economy.

The Great Wall included watchtowers, troop barracks, garrison stations, signaling capabilities through the means of smoke or fire. The path of the Great Wall also served as a transportation corridor. It protected China from nomadic groups and the mongolians.

Towards the end of the Ming, the Great Wall helped defend the empire against the Manchu invasions that began around 1600.

Today, the defensive system of the Great Wall is generally recognized as one of the most impressive architectural feats in history.

This is hard to articulate for me because my history on the subject is very hazy, but I recall during my first course in east Asian history discussing how the Wall was built as a means to take arable land often used by nomads. 

Essentially the equivalent of what they are currently doing in the South China sea.

Essentially the equivalent of what they are currently doing in the South China sea. 

 they reckon up to like 400,000 people died during the wall's construction. that's insane. and a lot of them were buried inside the wall. imagine that forced labour of building your own tomb, eventually encased, brick by brick. or bricking in your dead friend knowing what fate probably awaits you too, wondering who'll be your bricklayer.
