From what I seen, NYC is heavily dead because of the lockdown. Trash collection backed up, rats started taking over the streets. There is a massive lack of activity in a place that thrives on activity. The restaurants are fucked, the small businesses couldn't survive the quarantine. Why pay high cost-of-living in a place where you can't do anything? Of course people are getting out.
