If so, how? I don't mean using it as an alarm.
The most productive thing I do with my phone is not using it.
I tend to agree in most regards. Part of why I made this thread is that I was wondering if there might be some untapped potentials I was unaware of.

I'd see more potential from it if I was stuck with transit on a bus or train for it's room to be used when you might otherwise be doing nothing, but other than the usual status update or game or whatever only ones that really stick to mind are apps for learning languages (Memrise), apps for playing the stock market (Robin Hood), some basic music, art, and notepad apps to get ideas down before they're gone, and those IQ exercise apps people have been peddling (closest I go there nowadays is Wordscapes).
Everything I'd be using my phone for I could do better on my laptop, and I don't myself have much downtime these days where the phone would otherwise be ideal. I otherwise see my urge to check IMDB at my convenience for example as unhealthy within the same strain as my urge to check my watch every five seconds; outside I'm better off without it.
My trip to Japan also phone-haunted me a bit, it's worse there than it is here.
