It wouldn't have inspired you this much if it hadn't, and not everything featuring subject matter of a sexual nature is pornographic.

Well a litteral grand jury agrees with me. You've been spending too much time with Jim.

I don't think you understand the purpose of art. It's not just making pretty things and then selling it commercial, it's meant to evoke a response.

And by that definition Child Pornagraphy is art, which it may very well be imo.

Not all art should be legal however.

Litterally anything can be called art. When everything is art nothing is art. Jim raping a child would prob invoke a response, but that isnt art. It's sick. Just like cuties.

'Everything is Art', but not everything is necessarily good art. When you go on about art forms, you can talk about the finesse and techniques behind it as at that point it's about replicating within existing conventions, but art itself is just as simple as it being notable enough in reality to evoke a response from the one witnessing it.

The room for us to sit here and talk back and forth about it's qualities and it's effects on us makes it art, as the art itself is more in it's ability to be witnessed, while our room to discuss how it pulls at sociological demographics is politics.

We can nitpick about what art is , but at the end of the day the film didn't contribute much to think about. It's supposed to be a "coming-of-age" film. And what that means in essence—It's a bunch of pre-pubescent girls discovering sexuality. This could be an interesting topic, but it never needed to involve 11 year olds gyrating and humping the ground, with some weirdo director telling them to grab each others' asses. That's not only unnecessary, but it speaks volumes to the mindset behind the film.

I actually watched the shit and gained zero from it. It was cringe from beginning to end, and was basically an expression of girls expressing themselves and trying to fit in/figure out their place in relationship to boys.

I find this sloppy in the same way I find Jackson Pollock sloppy. Half-assed impressionism.
