Oh, you're crow? I was wondering who QuietBeef was, I mean I've seen you here but I was wondering if you're an old member.

Did we ever meet before? My memory's kind of hazy these days, but I remember a user called CrowOnAFence or something similar from a long time ago. I can vaguely remember Turncoat mentioning you in some context as well.

Yeah, been seeing if I still have an interest in the place, at this point.  I still like the vibes, but it feels harder to post now, for some reason.  It used to be easy to jump into long debates, and now it feels a bit like a chore, if I'm not extra peppy that day, like with the China post.  But that makes me think I ought to be here all the more, because I've gotten out of the habit of arguing.

lol Alright Berk, you do you.  But on the off-chance you're being earnest, since I have been gone for around.... four years I think?... NICE TO MEET YOU (again), I'M STILL A HUGE FAN. : D

Oh yeah? I should probably check out that China post. I must've missed it. Maybe you can take the next round vs Inquirer. You'd probably do much better than I did.

Now I feel performance pressure, lol. Like, what part of my personality did you like, specifically? Maybe I can recreate that in my future correspondence with you. There's, like, nothing special about me.

Somehow I feel like I should recognize a cue here or something, like you've said something similar before. Now it bothers me, lol.

I'm trying to remember that story Turncoat told me where you were in it but it's all hazy.

Anyway, pleasure to meet you. I'm Legga, but I guess you already knew that.

It's in the SIEGE thread.  I assumed most people saw it and no one read it, because of its size. lol  Mm, that post was a fun day.

I've been debating Inq for years now, and I've gotten about as far as you.  Pointing out his tendency to recontextualize his own past thoughts, feelings, and arguments to align with where his head is at currently, only to be met with an adorable and frustrating childish confidence that he never changes and therefore whatever he's saying now must be what he said then.  And pointing out his tendency to appeal to a convenient and malleable authority of "common sense", when all else fails, typically devolves the argument into an endless back and forth about what can be "expected" and what normality is supposed to be.  It is fun, though.  He's one of the few people who can just go on debating forever with me, even if he thinks it's never going to get anywhere.  I really enjoy watching you two debate.  His learning to take you more seriously over time has been a fun evolution.

I pretty much like everything about your personality except for the fact that it's entirely incompatible with mine. lol

I'll read it then.

Sounds eerily familiar. Apparently, it's impossible to tell if someone has post-rationalized or moved the goalpost according to his view. That's a pretty convenient view to hold.

Not to character assassinate Inq, but, well, if evidence means Inquirer evidence, then common sense probably means Inquirer's common sense. It's easy to be right when your starting premise is that you're right.

It's been a bit of fun. I have learned, at the very least, how to catch people moving the goalpost better.

I agree. Your personality is entirely incompatible with mine.

Oh wait, I forgot, you already did.  On StillPork.  My bad.

lol That pretty much sums it up.  I do envy his certainty, sometimes.  Looks comfortable.  Though he's actually gotten a bit more curious and open minded, over the years.  I think he's just not used to people really challenging him.  He's good at making people feel non-threatened.  (With the exception of the few people he feels socially safe in provoking.)

On StillPork? The topic is not on this forum, and I've read it?

Of course it is

Well, he certainly felt socially safe provoking me.

I just wanted to sound cool. I really don't, but I like you already.
