Reminds me a lot of the game music from the Dreamcast to Gamecube days. Not familiar with the Playstation stuff as much because I didn't have one. Back when every gaming project didn't have to be a multi-million dollar project and there was some creative freedom acceptable. I miss it.

Me too. We have some good stuff around now, but instead of finding it from unexpected games it's now in games where their soundtrack was otherwise a primary focus (ie: Bastion, Transistor, Undertale, etc).
