It's propaganda. It's a misquote of MLK from two different speeches designed to make it look like he's saying blacks are to blame. Those percentages were skewed too,btw. Just plunk it in google. You'll see it's bs.

don't know, but for curiosity, i looked into the 2018 crime stat's for race

blacks make up about 13.4% of the US population

from the link below blacks commit the following crime as a percentage,

all crime 100 X 2.826M / 10.310 = 27%

robbery 100 X 47.75 / 88.13 = 54%

murder 100 X 6.38 / 11.97 = 53%

so it looks like, depending on the crime, blacks still commit an unusually high percentage of the crime based on their population.

if anyone can find different statistics, i would love to see them. im no expert here

Nice job. Unexamined stats like these make it appear that blacks commit more crimes than whites, for those prone to superficial thinking. Question the story behind the stats to make sure you're not being word weaseled. 

Do blacks in the US commit more crimes, or do they just get arrested more often than whites?

Just compare the rates of criminal charges per capita for both races for possession of weed.

Do blacks in the US commit more crimes, or do they just get arrested more often than whites? Just compare the rates of criminal charges per capita for both races for possession of weed.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU): Despite the growing number of states enacting legalization laws, people of color are still much more likely to be arrested for marijuana than white people are—even though consumption rates are virtually identical across races.

In a new report released on Monday, ACLU reveals that while overall arrests are way down in states that have ended prohibition, racial disparities in remaining enforcement persist. Meanwhile, some still-criminalized states are arresting black people for cannabis at almost ten times the rate that whites are busted.

Overall, black people are 3.64 times more likely than white people to be arrested for marijuana possession, even though usage rates are comparable. The trend toward legalization and decriminalization hasn’t reduced national trends in disparate enforcement—and in some parts of the country, they have worsened.

i was mainly looking at violent crimes. another FBI link for 2017. I did not say blacks committed more crime. i said that as a percentage of the population, 13.5%, they are committing about 50% of the violent crimes. which is disproportionate.

murder 100 X 5025 / 9468 = 52%

i dont think these numbers are being disputed, but if you can find other stats, love to see them.

and it may be that due to blacks disproportionately committing violent crimes, they in fact, are being targeted by the police by reasons of police self preservation.
