There are many more studies showing this drug has some merit. It's too bad this got all politicized around Trump. When other expensive drugs like remdesivir get pushed due to financial gain people really lose out.

Pretty sure the French have a few studies showing some good results for hydroxychloroquin.

There have also been a few studies showing poor results on old and dying people.

The last study I saw claimed in big bold political letters, "HCQ DOES NOT PREVENT COVID-19". Well of course it doesn't. It was never claimed to be a cure all.

Anyway I hope the drug works, not due to Trump, but due to the fact its very inexpensive, safe and third world countries can use it.

This is another example of politics getting in the way of real science. When the W.H.O stops work due to weak biased studies, it hurts everyone.

As far as I know, a real double blind randomized study for HCQ has still NOT been completed. Until then, its educated speculation with a side of politics at best.
