Mint is better in my opinion. I wouldn't get it on mobile, you would have to learn how it works. It would just become a pain in the ass, you wouldn't be able to get apps to work, etc.
If you're interested in learning it, get a 32 GB flash drive, download the ISO image for the distribution, use Rufus to burn it into a bootable flash drive. Or you can run it in a virtual machine if your computer is good. Linux is fun, but also a bit of work to learn.
