Off the Grid's not all bad if that's your thing. Lacks a lot of the noise and clutter you find from tech, the air's cleaner, and the sound's real instead of those low hums of human ingenuity (cars, electricity, etc). 

Edit: Much of what I dug about Japan was over how quiet all their tech was. It was more peaceful while still having a lot of the conveniences we take for granted. The quality of standard for their food was also a tier above what we're used to here.
