Serious question, it doesn't resemble anything else in Nature, yet we do it with an appearance of it being natural to do.

I doubt they could understand it. Probably just baffling.
I've felt that way when I've seen them watch me cleaning a room, but with cooking they seem more fascinated by it.
I guess with the burning it's releasing more of the smell than they're used to, and differently.
