Looking back, aside from political content 2016 was the only time where I truly enjoyed watching youtube videos. It was before youtube became for liberal pussies and idiotic Jake Paul fans and gays. It was politically incorrect, edgy, and full of memes. The election made the political content really good, too. Commentary channels like Leafy were on top, producing truly hilarious videos at the expense of others making fools of themselves. Political channels like Sargon of Akkad began their come up. There was the Leafy vs Keemstar drama and the resulting podcast which was awesome, and even the drama AFTER the podcast was entertaining (although, less so). Comedy channels like filthy frank and idubbbz were making their best content also....
but now, it's hollow. Jake Paul's everyday bro signaled the beginning of a boring and meaningless era for youtube and it got boring ever since. I miss that time for youtube, it was fun while it lasted. Also, that was when I first got into online chat shennanigans which was really enjoyable around that time. Back then I just went to this dated ass anon chatroom (teenchat.com) to fuck around and it was a lot of fun for the time. It was a really easy school year too, and high school was in full gear. I guess you could say I am experiencing nostalgia.
