I mean, you now have people romanticizing raw meat and raw milk as symbols of vitality, masculinity, and a return to nature. To me, that is part of a broader desperation in Western culture to retreat from modernity and re-establish rigid, supposedly “natural” hierarchies.
It is an interesting question about power and wealth in the USA. Some people see growing gaps between rich and poor as a concern. It is worth looking at the facts before making a final view.

Whatever I said before I take back. Yes the US is feudalist. The widening gap between classes is making the barrier of entry between workers and means of production nearly insurmountable.
The system is rigged. The only way to make money is to already have money, and those without money are being left behind in a deeper and deeper hole where the only option for survival is to work for the owning class.
