Hilariously enough, there's also no such thing as alpha and beta amongst wolves. 

Such behaviors tend to be the byproduct of captivity, as we can also see in the Mouse Utopia experiment and even Human prisons. As such, I tend to see people who err too hard on "Alpha" mentality as being about as desperate as a caged animal.
