And then there are also animal crossing forums, which i haven’t joined yet but, they’re out there. In addition to the animal crossing official website by Nintendo, these are great resources for help and info, or trading, what not.

Update I am now developing some sort of carpal tunnel in my arm because of animal crossing 

long story short if you’re trying to make a lot of money in animal crossing don’t be stupid like I was and plant lots of trees and then chop them all down and plant more trees and chop them all down over and over and over again and give yourself carpal tunnel 

because now my wrist hurts and I have to rest it for god knows how long 

I tried taking a break from playing for theee days and it got better but then once I started typing and playing again the pain comes back a bit 

long story short I need to heal my wrist and... work smart not hard in the game so you dont injure yourself 

the only reason this happened is because of the damn DIY projects and how the fuck do you build 800 fences without getting carpal tunnel dude! 

Lol I just got an idea to do a lion king themed town or something 

someone has already done a Disney one that is impossible to beat 

but I just thought of it because the little heads bopping to the beat and the music and the jungle all reminded me of like lion king 

but yeah uh. When I was doin wild world back in the day I made my town into a water park and people would come and like play on it 

It was just a fun way to like exercise your creativity 

but these days everyone charges money to come to their towns a lot of the time or some sort of fee involving trades of goods 

and it’s like all about gaining something 

just thought that was an interesting like shift I noticed in like the way that people play animal crossing back in the day vs now

This is very close to the truth actually. 

These farm-style games (and grind games like MMOs as well), especially once they add aesthetic customization, are basically meant to hack your dopamine centers. After getting super into one of these kinds of games, have you ever tried listening to their positive audio SFX? Even just the sound of Sonic picking up a ring, Mario getting a coin, the Pokemon level up jingle, all of that shit is so embedded into the brains of gaming culture that they're putting them into remixes. 

Harvest Moon's a helluva drug, and I've straight up seen World of Warcraft kill relationships.
