It’s so unfortunate.
But I’m a huge geek for the technology and interfaces you see in the show, from a software engineering and design perspective.
I just was geeking out about the fact someone made an app that appears pretty much the exact same as the iconic app in the episode “Nose Dive”
How I wanted to design SC 3 was largely inspired from a combination of apple and black mirror’s aesthetics.
But when I posted a preliminary draft no one seemed to understand what I was trying to accomplish, they didn’t see the vision. But yeah... it’s just cool to me that someone has pulled off the “functionality” of my programming dreams.
Because that’s the hardest part is making it all run smoothly and, to flow in the way that black mirrors technology does, it like- has a lot of “movement” and swiping motions and all that jazz it’s very intuitive.
I think it would be a beautiful theme option for SC, with of course different coloring options. Which, could be made more interesting to look at than just one plain color... or, could be the standard one color options like you see in the application that was developed after black mirror’s nose dive app.
I just think it is aesthetically stunning and moving in the direction technology is headed anyways. Which is more, interactive, more “life like” natural movement/fluidity, more intuitive, faster, easier, and more transparent- while still being as presentable, user friendly And simplified as apple’s products.
Another cool idea would also to be to make a theme option that is similar to coda and terminal. But like, almost like- cute. Like, a sort of 3D bubble like feel to it, with as much movement and free handed-ness to it as animal crossing new horizons on Nintendo switch.
I suppose you could have two options- one that is very classic looking (some people like that)
one that is very modern day looking.
And don’t get me wrong I love a good ol’ classic SC, I wouldn’t suggest to get rid of it ever.
But from a creativity stand point, I’d love to play around with a “my version” of SC, as it is. Like, very “SC” inspired and pretty much very much the same but, just my sort of own spin on it. Just for shits and giggles.
All of this would of been possible with the help of a family member I have who is very excellent at professional coding and software development (and he enjoys it, it’s all he does lol)
But unfortunately he’s so, freaking excellent he’s extremely busy with his own work right now, which is contributing to, a much larger, more important cause.
I asked him recently to help me with something and he hasn’t responded in 72 hours because he’s that busy he just doesn’t have time to fuck with side projects that aren’t related to his work right now.
But, yeah the dude can do anything. He developed his own OS and develops things like that for fun all the time, apps, whatever you name it.
I just tried watching some of the first season again.
It's interesting to see that it was written from a slightly-more technologically historical perspective now. In time it'll reflect an idea of the future that's purely tangent-history as opposed to tangent-present.
This show might age rather strangely.
whatever you do, don't watch the last season lol
i, i'm not sure if it's like, a very weird form of comedy where it's so bad it's funny or what they were going for, but then they still tried to keep their social commentary tone on it, i- i'm not sure what the fuck is going on lol
it's like they ran out of ideas or like, tried to make it laughable on purpose.
but yeah, nosedive is my favorite episode lol
i could probably rank all of them best to worst honestly
that stupid robot one being the worst (god that episode makes me angry) lol *it has miley cyrus in it*
and bandersnatch was, a cool concept but, sort of a let down in a way just because i had really high expectations for it after how good the original black mirror was- before the last season was released lol
and yeah, i mean. some are hit and mess but, the one with that stupid robot dog thing that runs around trying to fucking kill this person in a walled off community with no escape? (however that makes no sense because there were large objects that i would of just stacked together to get over the wall with....???) it was a cool idea but poorly executed. like it was *almost* good, ... almost. lol but, in all honesty a fail on that one IMO
didn't quite meet the standards of the other episodes.
