They've distanced themselves so hard that it's illegal to have Nazi paraphernalia there, and with open arms they welcome refugees, even as they sexually assault their women on New Year's Eve. It's a guilt and shame complex, makes me sick.

From what I've gathered a lot of them are ashamed of their history.

 Lol, that's on point. I've saw some articles saying that now they like to say Germans themselves for victims of the Nazi, and the Nazi ruined Germany.

I've never stopped to realize how awkward must be, maybe not for all of them, but for the majority that thrives to be a good normie to this day, they are bombard with tons of WWII, depicting the German, as a Nazi villain with no soul. 

It's literally portraying their nationality, literally as a group of soulless evil beings.

For example, everytime I finish watching a movie like that, for example, the Pianist, where I cheered for the big-nosed protagonist the whole time, and going nuts when the russians blasted the germans away. For them must be like '' Yeeeks, one more WWII, one more time losing in the end :S ''

 

 

 Besides being ashamed of their past, they decided to take safety measures to prevent history repeteating it self.

Books like "Mein Kampf" are prohibited and you can't be seen reading them in public, if you perhaps think it's funny to have a hitlers mustache you will be arrested cause it's prohibited too, besides that can't be seen with any symbols that represent anti-semitism and racism, and certain words like "Sieg Heil" in public is also not a good idea.

With all this some movies portraying WWII are also prohibited they will not be available on cinema or on TV, only if you download the movie you will be able to watch.

From what I've seen and experienced in person some of them (and not a small bunch) take pride in what happened but not the way it happened.  For them it shows that they have "power".
