I am a big fan of star wars because the first two trilogies are essentially a Epic Greek Tragedy.

The new trilogy really missed that feeling.

 They were really good. I think Episode I to III added the action and prowess that we did not know that the Jedi or Sith had. The new lightsaber fights also brought the franchise to a whole new level. Star Wars sucked me in when I’ve watched Episode I. Darth Maul, Qui Gon Jin, Ewan as Obi Wan.

On top of that there were the expanded universe in Comics, with the tales of Exar Kun, Ulic Quel Drom, the Mandalorians culture and so on.

Just to be stripped away and made non-canon by Disney..At least we can be happy that there will be never an episode XI as it seems that at least Disney made partially some of the ancient Sith lore, canon, such as Darth Revan, Darth Bane, so it hints and people have been talking about a possible Old Republic based movie, or something along this period or even before to introduce us to the first dark jedi.

The prequels could use a little recasting and otherwise some serious edits and reformatting. It's one of the few cases where a remake could stand to be much better than the original.

The new trilogy is mostly hype echoes of older stuff. 

The minute I saw them dragging a reluctant Harrison Ford back to set, and them trying to shit on the natural mystery known by fans as "Yoda Species", shows their efforts to me as a desperate cash grab. 

I mean shit, they're even turning the Knights of the Old Republic series canon, which, while an amazing standalone piece of fiction in the form of super powered philosophy, means that now Disney can shit on Bioware's masterpieces too. 

They need to be stopped.
