...do you legitimately trust Dr. Oz? The dude's a snake oil salesman, and there's accounts of his peddling online that aren't hard to find.
The numbers are only scary bc there are so many old people in the world right now.
Between the Baby Boom on this side of the pond and the one baby policy in China, there is an unusual ratio of old to young people at this time in history.
It's the same reason there seemed to be so many people dying over the last 5 years of just about everything else.
It's all just a matter of demographics.
The odds are 50/50 that everybody who comes into contact with it will get the virus, with a one in 30 death rate so far.
It's not the end of the world :D
It's means of transmission is worth being alarmed if this virus has any potential of mutating further. Just because it's not killing people in a flashy way now doesn't mean it isn't something to worry about.

The actual cure is the same as any other nasty cold/flu. Bedrest and fluids and staying warm and cozy so your body's natural virus fighters can do what they do.
