Just to clarify my bill was incredibly cheap. Dont take this as an example of why American healthcare sucks. My insurance covered all of it and the only dent it put in me was in my chest.  Only in the US can you get such outstanding medical treatment for such a reasonable price.  I drove my stick shift the 5 hour trip home just 1.5 days after surgery.  And I havent needed painkillers at all except before I go to sleep

Some other countries I've been to haven't been too bad by being affordable without all the insurance rigmarole. Their treatment wasn't held at gunpoint by potential lawsuits perhaps, but they still got the fixes done. 

The US system's such a scam come the end of the day unless you're extremely accident-prone.

 By extension, all healthcare systems are a scam. Anything that isnt private healthcare, so any socialized healthcare, at the end of the day is taking over 30% of your salary. Many taking 60% of your salary. That's the real fuckin scam, even more so when you consider that they're given no choice to avoid paying that much and get private healthcare instead

There's places you can go where you throw a fraction of the cost for more-than sufficient medical care. No insurance needed, no payments towards specific injuries you may never experience, just an issue going to a clinic to be fixed. 

The same extends even to dentistry and the like.

No hospital has ever come after me as of yet. Not saying that it doesn't happen, but that's my experience. Even before I had insurance. It's usually not a serious situation, especially if you're broke. You could work a job a few hours a day, one a week and use that to make payments and have no credit repercussions. They'll usually settle with any figure you say you can make, probably even $50 a month.

 Never did I know that you could simply ghost a hospital to avoid paying until I came on here. It seems like several of you have done it too, almost as if it's a regular occurrence.

Certain people here should do it for a boob job or some other type of plastic surgery that would make them less appalling and "more" appealing. Not naming names, you know who you are

what is that white stuff? the bruising is fine, not worried about that.  but obviously i cant bent over to get a closer look bc its above my belly button. im not that flexible.  Blanc, any ideas?
