I hope y'all were this distressed when ya found out the UK was selling dead babies/baby body parts to the US for nuclear testing

I'm not. I'm more distressed Trump banned medical testing on fetal tissue. Those unwanted monstrosities could have actually had a purpose instead of rotting in the ground.

It's all the same to me, the mother didn't want it, the doctor didn't have the time or ability to be buying grave plots for a bunch of spermlettes ,didn't have access to incinerators, and just stored them in jars. Tbh I think that's better than say chucking it in the dumpster if you wanna do the moral shouting bit.

People weren't getting outraged when the sterilization of hundreds of native American women and people of color and people in poverty were happening without their consent but this doctor made some waterscape terrarium with a couple of fetus rejects and y'all clutching your pearls smh fam.

Let a man do his hobby, gosh!

Why do you think he stored 2400 dead babies in his garage?

What should he have done with them?

Follow the law and dispose of them properly. Maybe this cost money so he just stored them.

Fetus terrariums aren't illegal anywhere in the USA

"Indiana is one of just a few states with a law mandating burial or cremation of fetal remains after abortions. The law did not take immediate effect because of court challenges after then-Gov. Mike Pence signed it into law in 2016. A U.S. Supreme Court ruling in May upheld the law."

Up until 2016 they were getting rid of them the same way they got rid of blood and fat waste. And I doubt many funeral home would have wanted to deal with having to get rid of the little things, or if they even had the capacity with how incompetent some funeral homes are. There was the whole thing with unrefrigerated bodies, revoked licenses of funeral directors and just a general shitshow of death process in Indiana. It costs money and space to keep bodies in fridges and then again money and space to bury them.  Fetus terrariums still aren't illegal anywhere in the USA and is apparently free-ish

Take an empty fish tank, make a smooth layer of gravel, add remains of the unwanted cumstain, fill with dirt, add cute succulents, sell on craigslist as some kitchy hipster decor. BOOM, fetus was burried, just like the law states.

Sc is pretty boring.

Is there a company like this yet, I bet that could be a thing.

Callous. Do you think those women think about their abortions? Wonder if their fetus is there in the garage. Maybe on the birth/death day?

Well three of those women were 10 and 13 so...

at the very least they're just thinking or being grateful for not having to go through the trauma of childbirth at such a young age. Maybe there were more underaged girls, women that were victims of rape and women that made a mistake and realized that birthing a child in Indiana was a pretty terrible idea.

Maybe they look back and think, 'thank fuck I didn't have that kid and subject it to my poor choices.'

Curious how the pain and suffering of the mother justifies killing. I mean I'm not opposed to killing. Just a curious justification. One for the other. The woman must be worth more than the developing child. I'm not sure I agree with that. You really don't know what value the fetus will have. So how can you make a value judgement on one life for the other.

Very easily, in the three I was talking about- they were all children ages 10-13. How can I trade the future of a whole ass developed person(child) for something so traumatic as a maybe potential fetus?

As well that the others ones made this choice because they were not ready to have a child and I think that's very responsible of them. When they are ready to have one, they likely will have the support system available if not the financial ability they need to have a child. When they are ready.

You can always make another child and in the chance that you cannot make another child you can adopt an unwanted one that's already been made.

the idea that when you kill the life form but also get to dictate its decomposition process is one hell of a power trip. i don't have much sympathy on this one, especially considering that i already don't endow non-conscious beings with inherent rights or considerations

This logic is flawed. Next time you're in an alcohol induced "unconscious" coma I'm going to have you killed and dismembered and then stored in a garage.  Unconscious does not mean no rights

obviously the degree or quality of a brain plays a part. for instance, a lot of people feel fine with pulling the plug on people in a vegetative state. but someone in a coma tends to get more consideration. and not all of us impart will to something that doesn't have an organized nervous system, even though if it might eventually end up with one

Apparently there are laws about handling dead people, like burial or cremation. I don't see this as a power trip, just common decency to keep rotting corpses off the streets.

let's not pretend like there were rotting corpses stinking up the street here; what people are upset about is how the doctor kept them for himself

No like I read the article, he is an abortion doctor but I just mean, like. Dude abortions cost money, not everyone has the money... he was doing something under the table

but i will explain instead of just posting a meme picture.

you read the article, but apparently thought it was not possible that he could be performing that many abortions perhaps, or that they were being done in some shady way. if you spent a moment to look into him, he was a pretty credible physician for decades. even in the midst of this controversy, nothing suspect has been voiced about his practice other than the handling of the fetuses post-extinction, and then some post-operation treatment controversy circa 2016. you just felt upset about what you read, and went on to say he had "shark eyes" and that it seemed obvious he was doing something shady. and i thought that was kinda dumb
