Animal crossing new horizons

🥰 so I’ve decided to get a Nintendo switch 🥰

This game looks really stress-reducing and therapeutic. Helps you deal with anxiety or depression and stuff sometimes, it’s a nice unwind at night or a pass time while traveling long distances.

It’s so cute too. If you weren’t able to go to other people’s towns I wouldn’t be as interested in it, but the social aspect of it is fun. And looking at other people’s pics on tumblr from other ACNH players.

It’s like a little community.

Back when I was like younger I used to have an AC:wild world blog on tumblr and was kind of immeshed in the small community there on tumblr. And we would Skype (this was before discord lol) and go to each other’s towns and play or trade things it was fun. I was also active on the AC forums wayyyy back in the day. I was a huge geek about it.

But yeah then when I travelled from Mexico to America one year my entire DS and game was stolen so I stopped after that.

Nintendo Switch version though looks super addicting, so I’ve decided to try it out. Worst case I can sell it online if I don’t like it anymore or give it away to someone I know.

I dunno like yes it is kind of childish but sometimes you just need to do something stupid for a minute and take a break from life. You spend the same amount of time watching Netflix and things like that as an escape so it’s the same thing, but this is just way cuter and interactive, creative etc.

The other thing is, lately I’ve been needing something that is a fun distraction at night that I can do when winding down and trying to like decompress or whatever. Destress. But watching Netflix isn’t therapeutic like AC is. I’ve been a little frustrated with how everything there is to watch is like so hard core dramatic and heavy that I can’t get a break from the unpleasant things in life- which I desperately need (bcuz anxiety and depression.) it’s like, I already have enough of that in my head, I don’t want to turn on a show thats even more anxiety inducing or possibly triggering or worsening depression.

I need something positive, uplifting. Also, it gives you a sense of accomplishment so not only is it soothing, but it also helps with depression. It’s been proven just accomplishing small meaningless tasks like makes a huge impact on depression and motivation, and stress. Healing from Emotional burn out and ptsd breakdowns and stuff. So it’s something safe, happy, and cute. The bright colors and fun little animals that love you back. And then you’re actually doing something to your brain you’re copin and managing your stress, anxiety, and depression. Decompressing from the weight of the world or escaping it for a while. Within healthy measure and balance.

It’s actually very healthy. And that’s why so many people play it that aren’t kids. Though kids love it too, the adults who grew up playing it love it just as much.

It has a cult following now which makes it kind of fun there is a hole community you can tap into on Twitter Instagram YouTube tumblr and it’s just really fun being a part of it. Meeting like minded people. And gaming together. There are also discord servers.

So yeah, it’s fun. Let’s play. If you are ordering it too let me know.

this is the official ACNH thread for posting all things related to AC. If you have a game post pics and shit I would love to see your shit. I’ll be posting my shit too. Woo hoo. Fun

You might want to look into getting a USB keyboard for your switch if you socialize a lot in Animal Crossing.
