if you don't use dark mode on *everything*, that's offensive
and second of all, I had this weird idea from this meme I saw:
Post:
"growing up reading fantasy books was such a bust cause your whole life you’re left wanting more from life and like there’s something missing and you’re just waiting for that missing part to begin but it’s never gonna come"

Where basically it's a book where the main character, or multiple characters enter a fantasy and the entire point of the whole fantastical adventure novel/series/show/movie is to teach kids who watch it through the unveiling of the plot/dialogue and the way the characters handle their misfortunes and shortcomings in life, that- life throws curve balls, people make mistakes, and things end up not the way we expected, we become people we didn't think we would be, or go through hardships we could of never imagined we would face- and it teaches them how to be realistic and how to actually handle these situations in life that are hard and bad.
Could have multiple seasons like American Horror Story where each season is pretty much vastly different in plot and setting, sort of like Grimm's Fairy tales series you know. Lots of different stories that all teach you something important and have deep intrinsic value that will stick with people for the rest of their lives, whether it be consciously or subconcciously. Teaching healthy mentalities, perspectives, and coping mechanisms/behaviors Etc.
I feel like the tv shows we grew up with were
1. racist
2. homophobic
3. xenophobic
and also taught us nothing about life.
we were shown fairy tales, Disney princesses, and the story of the hero that never comes in real life, the story of the person who wins an opportunity- that millions of people never see. The movies and tv we grew up watching ignore the reality of life, which is outside the privilege bubble there are larger things to be concerned about- and in life, there are things that matter, that you need to learn early in life- or you will struggle to handle the facts of life healthily.
It also taught us to be
4. skinny
5. fashionable
6. vain
and care more about status, popularity, fun, and intimacy.
Countless shows follow around the underdog, and somehow they come out ontop by being the bigger person. But in reality- it goes further than that. Sometimes, nice guys finish last. But there is more to life, than finishing first.
And that's, what we should be talking about.
