i was going to make an argument about why any other species would do what we did if they had the resources but end up destroying the planet more because they done have intelligence. but i dont care to because itll woosh right over your head

All im gonna say is in the past 2 decades weve made leaps and bounds in sustainable forestry.  Weve developed adaptive management, put more stress on monitoring (which was seen as an unnecessary expense before) and the US has more trees and forest than historically present. 

Its the underdeveloped 3rd world countries that have yet to catch up.  Which is why we should invest on speeding up their development. 

we're actually on a really good pace to creating a better future. people are proud to be in forestry, it isnt the overexploitation it was in the 20s.  The entire field is working tirelessly for preserving the landscape for the future generations
