I think it's just a natural lull, things always seem to pick up somehow... perhaps we should reform a main discord and then start branching out to other discords and sort of casually bringing people in that way.

 We'll see. Each "lull" is more acute than the last, mind you.

There is nothing engaging going on right now, maybe the jucyness is happening behind the curtains this time around. Which is not necessarily a bad thing, but for SC's sake, it ain't good.

When what's going on is engaging, new people get lured in. What does the term Sociopath Community suggest? What do people that come on such a website expect?

Well it's simple! Edgy sociopath posting. Stories of people doing sociopathy things, perhaps discussions on how to get ahead by using illegitimate means.

Do we see stuff like that around nowadays?

Nope.

If not that, do we at least see examples of people using others for their own gain?

That is debatable. But it's clearly not very out in the open.

What about niche ideas, fringe interests, and other random things that would interest someone who's against mainstream currents in society? Not even that.

So that's why it's dying.

 Ive been doing stuff in the background but none of it is very interesting. i dont have any more innocent people to take advantage of and med feels like sloppy seconds after getting the beat down from chapo. there is nobody to manipulate or force to leave the site 

all the secondary characters are gone and all thats left are the core members that like eachother

Look, the threads are kinda repeating themselves, so its boring here. I can only discuss Jim's e-dates and Myers Briggs testing so many times.

If someone wants to have a conversation about something intellectual or politics, im game. There is a lot going on now with The EU politics swinging right, the Iran uprising, the impeachment and China's virus breeding ground, WTF.

I did see Jim mention the coronavirus, just drink Budweiser dude. ;)

 I probably belong on "Narcissist Community" if that's was a thing. I don't really post about me exploiting people because exploiting people in my view, is parasitic and unchallenging. I like a good challenge in life. I produce plenty of good content that the mainstream even among so called outliers isn't quite on the level to take in yet.

 I suspect this is Lena. Just a hunch.

Why it happened: The website went down for a good chunk of time some weeks ago, and that had a few others fall out of the habit. Otherwise based on what's known and sparse activity from some it's easy to imagine who's reduced themselves to just lurking (I know who you are). 

What's happening now: Clearly BR, much like when you thought SC4 was "The best SC has ever been", you're projecting your own views of the place and assuming it's how everyone feels. This isn't unusual at all for our group, and the number of members during your boastworthy period isn't really too different. 

Remember when you thought the website was dead, and that Boards.Zone was going places... just because no one would kiss your ass? 

What we can do about it: If your perception of participation here is really that contingent on your own participation within it, all you need to do to feel like the place is more poppin' is to contribute more to it yourself, right? Otherwise I'd recommend trying to bait some out of lurking. 

The Weather Argument: Our more active times tend to be Spring and Fall anyway, when all our energy's spiking and we need somewhere to throw it all. It's not about who's home for the holidays, as a lot of people use this website mobile-y or at their place of work, it's about how much drama is happening in our own lives that we can use as a resource. Summer and Winter are fairly dead times from people not just being busy, but tired from the weather. 

Seriously, if I had a dollar for every "SC is dead"... it's beyond the realm of Necromancy at this point.
