Lamias can shapeshift, they don't harm themselves by looking in mirrors, and the sleeplessness I can strongly relate to.
The choice is obvious, especially in regards to it's connection towards Lilith.

My favorite Greek god is Poseidon and lamia is the daughter of Poseidon. Not to mention she's a sea serpent and that's a pretty cool way to explore the ocean depths

I have favorite stories but my second favorite god would be Hermes.
Zeus is a close tie because of how much he betrays heras trust by sleeping with mortals.
Hahaha. I latched onto it in 5th grade. Was the only things I'd read for awhile. Then I turned to Grimm Fairy Tales and darker versions or different tellings of things like that.
Why Hermes? He's not often a fave.

Well my theory was that they act as an extension of the body and take nutrients from the what the Gorgon is eating, like normal hair. This is also mythology, anything could be possible in those worlds.
