To make money
reasoning:
the overt sharing on social media with frequency and timely live streams and uploads, seem a bit rehearsed or scripted. Like she’s already come up with what she’s going to say when she goes on and then she just stays on that topic.
people with schizophrenia have a difficult time staying on topic and don’t go on live streams and start laughing maniacally, crying the next, and talking about their delusions with clarity.
their words trail off at the ends and they may not make much sense at all. She communicates too well for someone who is supposedly from how she is acting in severe psychosis.
People in psychosis and who are mentally unstable don’t have this perfectly put together act to share on the internet. It’s too overdone, like. It’s what The average person might think psychosis and mentally unstable people look like-
But it’s not reality. How it actually looks from early onset to full blown manic episodes and psychosis do schizophrenia none of these really match up with her behaviors, she’s just acting “generally mental.” On purpose and trying very deliberately to maintain this act of pure mental instability and detachment from reality yet- her hair is clean and brushed, she’s dressed and clean- she hasn’t lost or gained any weight. She keeps thrusting her hair in her eyes as if she thinks that will add to the effect or the act, and laughs randomly when she doesn’t know what to say, in a fake way.
People don’t just tilt their head back and laugh, in reality it comes up more naturally and almost skips out on accident if they’re hearing voices.
She can’t control her laughter but, genuine psychosis, you can’t control a lot of other things too. Holding the camera and focusing it on herself is a stretch, as well as she does. If you’re truly not in reality and in full tilt psychosis you forget the camera is there. Schizophrenics DON t typically film themselves during episodes and they’re not this overt once again.
Her mother is in on it.
If your daughter was in this state she certainly wouldn’t be uploading anything to social media she would be protected by her mom and probably put on meds that are so heavy she would appear sedated and be in residential treatment. As she talks about suicide and self harm and, is clearly not safe enough to be by herself.
People that are this mentally gone are a danger to themselves because she could just walk into the street or hop off a balcony. They don’t get dressed as well as she does and brush their teeth. They do things that are embarrassing and talk in patterns that are more abnormal than her speech patterns, and she should be rather difficult to understand. It shouldn’t make as much sense and be as clear as she is.
Ive talked to people in psychosis and they either go for thirty minutes or forget you are there entirely and start doing bizarre and unexplaining things that are so outlandish.... you really can’t make this stuff up.
Her stuff is not that creative compared to what I’ve seen in mental hospitals and she isn’t scattered enough. They move around constantly. They doubt everyone around them. They talk about situations they’re in that aren’t real and come to irrational conclusions about things in an extremely convuluted nonsensical way. They’re not with it enough to hold a camera and document themselves, they’re simply too far gone from reality to do something as organized and functional as that. If I have a camera to someone with psychosis like my room mate Julie for example in hospital- and I told her to film herself. She would likely sputter some random things to herself, not at the camera she would immediately put that down and start talking nonsense and then go off after about three seconds and start doing something bizarre like walking aimlessly and, staring at the walls and talking to no one. She turned the light switches on and off at random times of the night, and when I told her to go to bed she did get in the bed but that was as responsive as she was to reality. She couldn’t eat or properly form senstances or sit still for more than a minute, brush her teeth or get dressed, etc.
Once I came in the room and she had all of my stuff and her stuff in a large circle on the floor in the center of the room and I said Julie what are you doing. And she said a lot of things word soup bjt, what I got out of it was something along the lines of , she was making a time clock. A time clock was her wording lol. She explained a lot more about it but it made absolutely no fucking sense.
Witnessing it isn’t funny or interesting or entertaining, when someone is truly in this state, it’s actually just concerning and sad. Like you really don’t want them to be this way and you feel bad that this is happening to them. Because they’re not *enjoying* it either. Every now and then the real julie could get something out from underneath all the chaos and lack of focus and she would say things like “can I make this stop” or “I have to go to school, I’m a student at xyz university.” or “I can’t sleep.” Was one she said a lot.
after asking me “can you make it stop.” “I see the color purple.” “The color purple is everywhere.” “Do you see it?” “I see purple.” “I see- um... *spaces out*.” “Purple. Yep purple, blue egg... I’m not- sure I - China- the government. Is purple.” “can you make me sleep.” “J need to sleep.” “make it stop.”
During the day she walked around aimlessly a lot in a hurried fashion and looked at paintings on the walls that weren’t there. And talked to herself. She did embarrassing things, she smelled bad, she was dirty and her hair was gross at the scalp.
People had to remind her to use the bathroom or eat and would essentially do every part of these tasks for her and it was still incredibly difficult to get accomplished for the staff members.
sometimes she was panicking as if there was a state of emergency or something terrible was happening and she would yell and spastic motions with her body, uncontrolled motor movements. She picked up a fork and put it down. She’d sit down and then stand back up. She never seemed aware of her pants falling down or her shirt riding up or slipping off one shoulder.
she’d walk over to the light switch and turn it off and look right and look left and then walk outside and then walk back to her bed and then back to the light switch, then to the bathroom and she started brushing her hair with a toothbrush and then dropped it straight on the floor and was saying random things during this. In a quick and under the breath fashion and once again, to herself and none of it made sense.
like “hawk mill lane. No. No no no no. Mom. 22. Puppy mill. Paragraph.”
*steps two feet forward, stares at the ground.*
*steps two feet backwards*
*pauses*
and this never stopped for days on end.
