What do you gain from sharing your quirks?

If you haven't made a thread of that yet, why are you not sharing your quirks?

I figure by now most people here probably know mine, since I've been active here for years. Making a thread about it would be weird.

 Makes sense.

I feel that much more understood by other people, that much bolder and comfortable in my future choices, and it promotes a sense of reciprocity so it invites further discussions of a similar nature. Keeping secrets and saying lies has a way of building causal webs, and growing older's shown me that it's easier to throw more of myself out there than stay hidden or become inauthentic. It's easier to just wing it when you're honest, and it's easier to be authentic when there's less to keep behind closed doors.

Basically, by sharing myself, others are more willing to share back. It's like bartering but without a sense of permanency, and it overall helps my life goal of building a human spectrum of understanding that I can borrow from for future occasions. It also challenges myself when I'd otherwise find it easier to be withholding, so overall it's one of many small steps that contribute towards overall growth.

It also as I'd said earlier has a way of stealing the quirk's thunder or otherwise having people be that much more prepared for an odd tendency or... in my case, an episode.

TLDR: It helps me become that much less self-shaming, and shamelessness is power.

They're old news, and if it's either not on this platform, I've never said it, or they simply never read it they can just ask me.

 I like that explanation.

I can relate to that.
