I felt like that once, but it was mostly me justifying my own insecurities. 

 I don't find anything satisfying by attracting that much attention. 

I like to keep quiet in public.

What makes guarded behavior even worth it? 

 Attracting attention can bring bad just as it can bring good.

Being guarded is just better to me because I don't gain or loose anything that I find important.

 I still find it hilarious that my friends from sc did the same but my "friends" from that small adirondacks college didn't.  It's weird when you consider how they knew me in person
