*surprised no one said anything yet. *
Well we were a mixture of the first two. We asked alot of questions in the subjects we liked, or sometimes corrected the teacher on stuffs.
Otherwise we were quiet. Always reading books. Finishing tasks early just to get a book out and read further. We hung out with people but always read a book while doing it. The group changed from time to time (we were ejected quite often actually (lack of social skills) and found new groups that tolerated us).
Being the loner and not having actual friends that we knew long enough to remember opened alot of opportunities for us to be bullied. Nothing too serious though. Maybe it was our dead face expression while they did it, or mayhaps that we laughed along sometimes. Meh.
I can relate, sounds like HS bullshit. That pettiness disappears once people are humbled by the real world and realize how pathetic and unskilled they really are. They were focused on fucking chicks and being popular, meanwhile you've been developing actual skills that they'll later come to appreciate and envy. Play the waiting game

Well we didn't develop social skills.
