How can nonviolence solve a problem though? 

Not saying it can't, I'm just wondering over your take on it.

 Violence creates many more problems as killing people takes away society's accountability and pressure for/from the living. It's pretty much always the vulnerable or scapegoats that violence is ultimately excused upon, which ends up creating the same mess and making it worse as the planet and the people in it are continuously exploited. The greedy ignorant masses then wonder why everything remains a mess that only ever gets further entrapping and destructive. 

There is an ignorant ugly reason that powerful figures who promote peace have often been killed. 

It's hard to reach an equilibrium with escalations of violence.  But that's only if there's an equal scaling.  This is too nuanced to abrogate violence when necessary, as it is to the same with advocating pacifism.  It's always a balance in terms of de-escalation.

Imagine a world where violence is completely shut down, yet someone still has the power to control what's happening. 

We've had societies in history ban weapons and martial arts in order to establish a stronger stranglehold over their people, nonviolence is not always the answer. 

It's not always the answer, but it is certainly an ideal.  So not invalid for something to strive for, above resorting to violence, right?

The powers that be are only ever a reflection of the larger will. Revolution has a greater impact on hurting fairer rulers than powerful ones. Who do you think is responsible for the rich being rich? Their exploitations alone would be meaningless if people didn't thrive to cultivate an environment where only money talks. 

Just look at all the rulers that tried to make their country a better place that got couped by foreign agents inciting revolution (reminds me of you Turncoat). Only North Korea managed to survive all of this sabotage because they rule with an iron fist.

I'd also like to point out how Turncoat is admittedly Lawful Evil.

There's also the question over if "Self-Defense" counts, as it's learning violence to defend against violence. 

Martial Arts by design keep a person in shape and increase confidence, even if they end up never having to use it.

Marshall Rosenberg said in one of his classes that I watched on youtube that nonviolent communication is our first language and we all,  as in every person in the entire collective of humanity have spoken it fluently for about one year as an infant,  until we were taught otherwise by our parents or caretakers,  and this is probably true
